kcasam, you are almost certainly right about your bridesmaids not sharing my feelings, since I’ve never met anyone who did!  🙂

I think it gives the gift a personal touch since you like the book so much.

Kcasam, I’m not trying to rain on your parade or be rude at ALL, but I kind of agree with your family. I LOVE the idea of giving children’s books as a gift, but I don’t read the message of The Giving Tree as sweet. I always saw it as the boy using up the tree until she had nothing left to give.

its also one of the first books i remember from childhood. we had thought at one point about giving this as a favor or in Out of Town bags – we used “Hug O’War” poem and graphic in our Save-The-Date Cards – cutest thing ever – and thought about continuing the Shel theme. but i don’t think we are going to do it just cause of cost. but i kinda like the idea of giving it to BMs………

That is such a great idea. I am so in love with it. You should write them each a little note on the inside cover – it will stay in their homes and on their children’s bookselves forever! So sentimental and sweet!

I think that is a great idea. We used a Giving Tree theme for all our of paper goods and we’re sort of carrying it over through the wedding.
