That is more mermaid/ fit and flare/ trumpet.  I would not call it an A line at all.

Mermaid is more tight through the knees and flears at the bottome. FIt and flare is tighter through the hips and then flares out more at the knees.

This is obviously not a technical description, but the best I can explain!

Definately not A line. Mermaid typically doesn’t flare out until it reaches the knee where a fit-and-flare flares out at the thigh.

fit n flare is like what is picture…usually a true mermaid gown is tight to the knees then flares our at the bottom. this one doesn’t have as much of a dramatic shape as a true mermaid.

Not A-line at all….

Yours is more of a fit and flare:

The term “fit and flare” is often used to describe any silhouette with a fitted bodice and a flared skirt. However, the most accurate use of the term “fit and flare,” is to describe a dress that closely hugs the body through the bodice and right past the hip, where the skirt then flares away from the body

  • The Fit and Flare flares right below the hip
  • The Mermaid flares at or below the knee
  • The Trumpet flares gradually, at approximately mid-thigh

Yours by looking at it and based on the descriptions above it flares pretty much right below the hip…..so def fit and flare!
