That song seems to be in the same vein as “God Bless the Broken Road.” Although it references the past, that’s not the point, and it’s a really sweet song. I don’t think it’s weird at all. 🙂

I voted for it’s odd, but I don’t think anyone will notice. I honestly can’t recall what the first dance songs were at any recent weddings we attended. It’s not a bad song. I just feel like by the time of your first dance you are married so hopefully you have already proved your love and that you are the one, otherwise why get married. Is everyone aware of his previous situation?

I think if you both love it and it “speaks” to you then use it. There are a lot of songs I think fit us, but he doesn’t like them or they don’t feel first dance appropriate.

Go with what you want and if you decide not to use it as a first dance you can always play it later during the night!

I think if you and your fiance love it, then use the song! You’re the only ones it will truly have meaning for 🙂
