I think black is totally sophisticated. That dress is hot. Plenty of people wear black to weddings nowadays, and it seems like it’s not even a “morbid” color anymore.

I don’t think it looks morbid but for those who may do you have a bright clutch/purse or bright jewelry that you could wear with it?

I have heard that in some asian cultures it is considered inappropriate so make sure you know the culture of the families before you go for it!

But I think it is elegant and classic – and that dress is gorgeous!

i think it’s elegant and classy. i dont think the no black at weddings rule applies anymore.  plenty of people wear black.  I would pair it with colored or metalic heels to dress it up.

I think it’s really cute, so as long as the couple’s culture doesn’t have anything against black, I say go for it. Cute dress!

    I love your LBD!

You say you got that at banana republic?

Wow.  If they have this one around next spring or summer, my 3 bridesmaids would totally LOVE that dress!

It’s gorgeous!  How will you accessorize it?  Are you going to add in a punch of color somewhere?  Jewelry?

I love this dress. I agree with the above comments that if you add a little punch of color with a clutch or some great shoes, it would look fabulous!

I don’t know if its just because i live in NYC but I see tons of people wearing black at weddings. Go for it! The only color to avoid wearing at a wedding…white. obviously. haha. So love the dress and I say definitely wear it.

I voted maybe. It’s a gorgeous dress, but I try to avoid wearing black to weddings. If you brighten it up w/ accessories it won’t look “morbid” at all & you’ll look stunning πŸ™‚

So cute!  I love it and say go for it!  I’m also from NYC where no one would ever look at you funny for wearing black. πŸ™‚
