My issues is not with the color… if the bride thinks it’s fine then so do I.  But I think it just looks very young.  More of a bridesmaid look than a MOB.

If the dress was ivory, I could see their point…. but it’s PINK. I say it’s fine! It might be a little young though… but I don’t know the mom so… who knows!

Well, the bride specifically asked for ivory and pale pink, right? Yes, I think it fits. I wouldn’t be ‘mortified’ but I’d maybe give the reader another option. It has enough pattern on it that I don’t see an issue–it goes with the theme great.

I think it is gorgeous for a MOB!!

And not too white at all! A white gown will still stand out next to that!

I think the print and color are wonderful but I think the length of it is a little short for a MOB. To me it looks like a bridesmaids dress with that length.

I agree with the other posters on two points:

    1. Depending on the age of the mother, the shortness of the dress and floral embellisments could be a little too young.  This outfit looks like it belongs to a 30-something IMO.

    2. There’s nothing wrong with the color.  If the bride wants ivory and pink, then that’s what the bride wants!  I honestly don’t know why people get uptight when someone shows up with just an ounce of white in their outfit.  If it were a floor-length sleeveless white gown that would be one thing, but an ivory and pink dress is something else.

I just don’t like the light color I think something that’s more a jewel tone or not so pale would work better. Imagine the bride and MOB taking pics next to each other. They might kind of blend.

I don’t think it’s “too young” looking unless her mom is a fuddy duddy =]

My mom is probably like your mom, danadelphia, and I would never think twice about her wearing a dress like that at 52.

Think about all the hollywood actresses in their 50’s! Are they the only ones allowed to dress young?

Meh, i still love it. And i LOVE your fashion site. It’s fun and everything’s so affordable! =]

I think the color is fine, but agree that it looks liek a very young outfit-late 20s or 30s. But if it’s a hip mom and she can pull it off, good for her!

I think it’s an adorable look! Especially if the MOB is fit – it will look so chic on her! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the color…especially if it’s what the bride requested!

I think it looks too girly/sweet/young for a mom.  I like the dress your mom is wearing, though…I don’t think that looks too young for a mom.

Tulip explained it perfetly.. it’s too sweet. In my opinion the MOB should be in something more sophisticated.  I have no probs with mom’s looking like hot mamas.  @ejs I’ve seen your pics and my mom actually wore and almost identical dress to your mom but it was turquoise instead of red! Hoorah for our daring moms!
