bianca03 :  Alright so I am completely in the minority but I absolutely LOVE that romper, it looks even better on you than on the model! Answers about wedding guest attire on the bee always lean towards the more conservative and traditional side of fashion compared to what is normal in my circle. I would totally wear that to a wedding (unless maybe the ceremony was held in a place of worship), and I think the midi dress actually looks more casual because of the style and fabric.

bianca03: I just want to point out that not all weddings and dress codes are alike.  What may have been appropriate at the last wedding is not guaranteed at the next wedding, take cues from the invitation, other guests, maybe reach out to the bride and groom? Check out their website? I had people ask me what was appropriate and I was happy to steer them in the right direction.

bianca03 :  That’s true, I would definitely consider first and foremost what the bride and groom might think, and if they are older it might be best to lean towards the conservative side.

Sometimes when reading the comments on here I wonder if I am completely out of touch/just love to dress like a stripper, but I think you really have to consider the context. E.g. weddings I usually attend are for young couples with outdoor ceremonies, I literally have never in my life been to a church wedding. So from my point of view, that romper is amazing, but obviously not appropriate for all weddings in all contexts.

bianca03 :  Ooh thanks for posting. Haha yes it is very blurry and I have poor eyesight but it basically just says after the ceremony around mid-day they’ll have a gathering at their family home. The location looks like it’s very far up north, close to the Swiss border and near Lago Maggiore (but it is blurry so I hope I’m not totally off, haha). If this is the case then it definitely won’t be as hot as the rest of Italy. I’ve been in these areas in the summer and it’s much cooler than central and southern Italy. Also there’s more of a chance of rain here in the summer than elsewhere. So it shouldn’t be too uncomfortable!

Love the jumper-keep that for ladies night out or date night!

For people saying the midi looks great on you ๐Ÿ˜‘ wat… You know what flatters your body best. I wholeheartedly agree that your 3 inch rule is spot on. I’m 5ft 3 if I really stretch my neck lol and I’m bigger in the bust and hips/thighs. I don’t wear midi/empire/aline none of that. The picture where  the red and black hits above knee is a perfect length and looks great on you. The romper is perfect length just maybe wrong style for this particular event.

Please update us when you find something!

threecrazycats :  Yes I agree. Who the heck thinks the midi looks good?! It’s like a giant shapeless sheet. Short dresses do tend to look best on short people. Maxi can be okay if you can find one that doesn’t drag on the ground but it will make you look even shorter.

Wishing you luck OP, hopefully you can find something!

I like the knee length on you especially! I think a feminine, flowing, knee length dress would be one to keep an eye out for on your hunt. Some of the PP’s suggestions look like great style options.

Do keep in mind that Italy is a very Catholic dominated country and if they are getting married in a church then a short romper may get you some serious side eye, especially if there are many older attendees.

Update us with your choice and have fun on your trip!

bianca03 :  it is a lovely jump suit, but for me its to close to a white in the photos you took. dont want to clash with the bride! the jump suit looks more nice dinner out or baby shower than wedding. Maybe a simple dress with some bling to keep it classy ๐Ÿ™‚ find something you feel happy in ๐Ÿ™‚

I didnt read the comments on your photos correctly and thought that the 2 pics with it rucked up were how it looked and I was like WTF that is BAD lol (my bad, sorry).  But when I see it on you as it actually is, it is actually very nice and flattering!  I am a bit worried that the colour is photographing really light…depends how it looks in person.  If you dont wear that, I think a short lemgth dress as pictured suits you best – the midi is NOT advisable in my  opinion.

bianca03 :  aww you’re such a good sport and seem like a really sweet person, OP. even with some of the harsh responses, you’re still handling the conversation really gracefully.

I still like the romper after seeing it on you, even if you’ve decided not to wear it. another unpopular opinion: I don’t love the red and black dress. I think I just hate all midi dresses, tbh. I’m your height (5’2) and they just don’t do us medium-height gals justice!

either way, you’ll look great ๐Ÿ™‚
