Since the craze of the maxi dress I have been wearing them nonstop during the summer. I’m wondering, however, is a maxidress appropriate attire to wear to a wedding (as a guest)? I’m not exactly sure of how formal the wedding will be. I do know that it is in Texas at the end of March and according to the invite “cowboy boots are welcome”. So just curious would this dress be appropriate?

I think it would be appropriate, I love the colours! Since there is no mention of black tie / formal wear! =)

If boots are welcome, I would say so. I doesn’t sound like it’ll be super formal. I think it’s cute!

I would say yes as long as it isn’t like a black tie event or anything super formal but for most weddings I’s say yes I think it’s cute.

Considering it snowed here today, my first thought was “That dress in March?!?” but assuming Texas is hot, I think it’s perfect for an informal wedding.

Thanks for all the advice! I do know that it is definately not a black tie wedding. And the ceremony is being held outside at a ranch. Plus, according to their wedding website there will be games such as ladderballand horseshoes, and a petting zoo too. So I’m assuming it’s safe to say it will be semi formal.

I think it looks too much like beach attire. So I’d have to say not formal enough.

i think this would be a great choice for a cowboy boots wedding. you could even dress it up a bit with jewelry. with the right makeup and jewelry it will teeter on hollywood glam but still be down to earth and playful. course it could go with cowboy boots too!

yes its a pretty dress, iv seen people wear shocking things and a maxi dress is formal and elegant and can be dressed down to suit or up

With some super cute wedges or heels and some killer jewelry…yes!!

Would be perfect for a non-formal laid back wedding.

My only comment would be that its March and I think of Maxi dresses as a summer/by the beach thing but I think you are formal enough if that is your concern.

If cowboy boots are welcome then jeans are prob welcomed.. and this is on par with jeans. If you are traveling to the wedding though.. I would still bring a cocktail dress or something JIC

I’m in the minority. I have to say no.
It’s the kind of dress that’s fine casually, but doesn’t look like you put a lot of effort in. I’m also the type that would rather be overdressed than under though.
