I want to do a calla lily centerpiece on the cheap. I was gonna do one fake purple lily submerged in the 9 in round hurricanes with black rocks in the bottem and rose petals/sparkles around the bottem. Then my Bridesmaid or Best Man (who has done NOTHING for me so far except…) tells me it doesnt look good (the vase is too small for the calla) and to do one lilly sticking out the top about 6 in with a long curved leaf coming out and bending to the side….and oh, no rose petals around the bottem b/c roses and calla lilys dont go together. But I think this looks too plain.
So ive been racking my brain on how to use the 9 in vases with the purple calla and not spend toooo much more money. Im thinking just do the same thing she said but with 3 callas. The one purple fake calla and then order some real ones to add two real white ones….does that sound tacky???

Have you done a trial? Can you post a pic? It’s hard to say without a visual..

It’s hard without seeing a trial picture think. One doesn’t sound right. How about doing 3 calla lilies submerged together or different lengths. Maybe do white lilies, floating candles. purple rocks. If your budget allows then you could add a mirror, votives, or purple petals. Purple rose petals would look just fine!

I wouldnt mix fake and real calla lillies. Just doesnt seem like a good look.
Submerge the single lilly with the black rocks, add a nice big floating candle on top. Place the whole hurricaine on a runner with some votives.
Im not sure about the whole lillies AND rose petals thing. Just trying to picture it.
Some inspiration pics.

I went to a wedding with a wine theme. They had one real calla lily in a wine decanter for the centerpieces, it was very simple and elegant. I think with the rocks and the sparkels maybe its too much going on.

I did this centerpiece for a pretty low cost. It’s not hard at all. Inbox me for tips.

I really like the top photo posted by @TheRookieYear:
It’s not cool that your Bridesmaid or Best Man hasn’t helped with anything so far, but I doubt she was trying to be mean with her feedback..

I think calla lily’s and roses go fine together. You can spruce anything up with rose petals around IMO. 🙂
