I think it’s kinda fun actually but it just kinda draws more attention to the fact you’re not inviting them to the rehearsal dinner and could be construed as trying to make up for it.

Not to mention, after all that travel, the last thing I’d likely want to do is go to  game. Nice dinner, glass of wine, and then crash!

I don’t think it’s tacky by any means, though.

I think most of those that know they’ll have a long day of travel might take that into consideration probably wont enter the drawing. I’ve never been hurt that I wasn’t invited to the rehearsal dinner I think most people know that it’s just for the bridal party and close family. I don’t think it’s tacky at all I think it’s really thoughtful and fun! Go for it 🙂

I think thats super cute!  The Thursday night before our wedding we got a group of our friends together who were in town for the wedding and went to the Phillies game.  It was such a great way to relax and have fun and start the partying!

Yeah if only the interested folks would put their name in, then obviously they’d want to go! Especially since it sounds like it caters to your particular group of wedding guests.

I’m always more likely to enjoy a baseball game if someone else bought my tickets (DH sometimes gets season tickets from his BIl’s parents) b/c then we can not feel bad about buying beer and food at the stadium!

I guess it’s not like a game is THAT exhausting. You sit, relax, watch…=]

I think its a great idea something guests will look forward to on your wedding day.

I think it’s a cute idea!  If people could ‘sign up’ for the giveaway, then it would weed out your grandparents and other people who would be too tired to go.  Plus, I don’t think that they will be upset that they aren’t invited to the rehearsal dinner.  Everyone knows that they are usually just for the bridal party and close family members and they really shouldn’t all expect to be invited.

I think that’s a super cute idea. Go for it. People will know in advance what they’re signing up for so they won’t put their names in if they aren’t interested in doing it. Yeah, I think it’s great! And I’d totally do that, even after a day of travelling 🙂

I don’t think it is necessary at all to do the drawing, but I think advertising the event is cute. Maybe buy a very social and outgoing cousin the tickets, and have a page that says: “Coming in early? Go see the game with cousin Vinny! He will be in the bleachers, and having a great time.” I like sports and beer, and I would love to go see a game with cousin Vinny.

But, I’m having a weekend wedding, and I am really into semi-hosted events. I am tapping several outgoing people to lead events that we are offering to people, but not paying for (so far, wine tasting with a friend, 9-holes of golf with my dad, and fishing charter with my FI). I can’t afford to pay for all the wine, golf, and fishing, but it is easier to join in when you are somewhere new if the details are worked out and there is a contact person.

Now I’m wishing my wedding was in the summer so we could all go eat dodger dogs and watch a game after the rehearsal! 🙂 I wish!
