I just don’t feel like myself in the typical bridal gowns and would prefer not having a train or a veil. I’m getting married in a catholic church ceremony and then having the reception at a beautiful historical location. I might be willing to wear a veil to dress it up a bit for the ceremony, but I’m not sure and leaning towards no. I’m not one to enjoy the spotlight and am pretty low-key, but don’t want people wondering what happened to the rest of my dress! I’m in love with this dress, but is it too simple for a big catholic wedding? Any advice is appreciated!

I’m not familiar with “big Catholic weddings” but I think that dress would look nice with some jewelry and maybe a simple veil

I think this dress is GORGEOUS! I don’t know much about the big catholic part, but all that matters is you love it!

It’s very pretty. I’ve never gone to a catholic wedding so I don’t know what’s expected; but I think it’s gorgeous!

I think it looks classic, sophisticated, and lovely. So many dresses these days are over the top with way too much detail – I prefer dresses like this one!

I think it’s beautiful! I’m Catholic and I’ve seen brides in dresses of all shapes and range of extravagance. I think it’s elegant and will be beautiful in a church.

It’s not too simple at all! BUT, does your priest allow strapless? It probably wouldn’t fly with ours, but there is no set rule, so be sure to check!

With veil, it will look ver nice!

With the right accessories you could rock the heck out of it. I am simple myself and don’t see why I would be any different on my wedding day. Wear what you love.

Thanks ladies! I’m not sure yet if strapless is allowed in the church but I will probably try to find a little bolero (maybe lace?) or shawl for the ceremony if it’s required.
I appreciate all the input and advice!

Can you tell me where this is from?

I think it’s very unique and stunning!
Not sure of your body shape, but I would need super duper spanx if the back of the dress is at all what I think it is.

@mmg2012: Love it. I almost bought that one but ended up with an Alfred Angelo
