Hey! I went dress shoping today and fell in love with two totally different dresses. Dress number 1 (Oleg Cassini CWG365 ivory over champagne) was gorgeous, it has very beautifullace and beading and it made me feel very special. I do not fancy halter neckline, but they told they can change it. The second dress (Mori Lee Blu 5364 ivory) was also very flattering. I am really short and it`s verticallines that the flowiness of the dress makes, made me taller and slimmer. I really liked the neckline. It is too plain right now but i would add silver beaded straps and belt. It is beachy, flowy and would fit perfectly with outdoor wedding. However, I liked the first one little bit more.
One minus is that the 1st dress is quite heavy and our wedding is in the middle of July. Iwas thinking wheather it would be too hot? Brides, who have weared heavy dresses on summer, was it really hot?
My mom liked both ofthese. But my problem is, that I was thinking, whether it will or should match our venue and style? We have a rustic/chick theme with white, beige and orange colours. Iwas thinking, that maybe the first dress looks too fancy in this venue?
Unfortunately, they did not let us make any pictures, so I will show you the pictures I found on the internet. And I have added pictures of our venues as well. What do you think, is the first dress too fancy? And whether champagne colour would be too dark for outdoor wedding?

I personally regardless of venue like dress 2 more. I think it would be perfect for any wedding! I think adding a thin blingy belt or even thin straps will be beautiful!

I think both of these dress would look fantastic at your venue! They are both beautiful and would fit an outdoor venue with a rustic sort of theme. I actually think the first dress fits the rustic theme more because of the lace. I think the champagne color is lovely for an outdoor wedding.
I’m also getting married at an outdoor venue and this is my dress (which I think has a similar feel to your first one):

I am smitten with your outdoor venue. Wear what makes you happiest, they’ll both look good. The first is definitely fancier but I can see why you like it, it’s so pretty. The second would probably look better outdoors though – romantic, breezy, more natural looking.

I don’t like dress #1 at all. I think it’s a little outdated. Dress #2 is just more romantic and beautiful. By The Way, you’re venue is absolutely gorgeous.

I completely LOVE dress #1. Also you’re not getting married on a beach, you’re getting married at what looks like a castle. A princess gown is totally appropriate!

I personally prefer dress 2, I think it is much prettier and more modern looking but still gorgeous for an outdoor ceremony. Like you say you can always ‘jazz’ it up with jewellary and sparkles somehow! 🙂

Thank you for the answers. I really liked the second dress as well, but what would you suggest how to sparkle it up? Would it be possible to add lace to the back (it is usual corset back)? Or just beaded straps and belt?

I think a thin belt, a halo/headband underneath a cathedral veil, and a tear drop necklace with sparkle it up. All the small details will make a difference.

I’m not even reading your post. Why? Because I’m wearing a SUPER glimmering WAY formal dress for our wedding in a beautiful historic city park (I’d anticipated wearing a pretty special occasion dress but tried on my Oleg Cassini and that was that) and I’ll echo what my salesperson said when I said exactly what you did, “It’s never too formal/fancy if it’s what YOU want and what feels right. It’s your wedding.”

FWIW: I like the first dress a lot more. But you’ll look beautiful in whatever you choose because it will exude you!

The second dress by far ( I dont think venue should dictate your dress , unless really, really formal or a theme maybe ) I love its flowy lines.
If you add straps and/or a belt, have them narrow and delicate in keeping with the ethereal quality of the dress.

I adore dress number 1! <3
