I think it’s great! I work near a courthouse and people wear everything from sweatpants (really) to very fancy traditional dresses so I don’t think anything you chose will stand out.

It’s perfect, and even if it was “too much” it’s your wedding, you can wear whatever you feel like.

Its very pretty.  Fi and I are actually married.  We went to the courthouse on oct, 12, 2011 and got married.  I still wanted my big wedding and he just wanted to get married asap.  So we compromised that we would go to the courthouse and on our first anniversary have my big wedding.  Anyways, at the courthouse, there were other girls in wedding dresses.   I thought they looked very pretty.  It was much better than the couples in sweat pants and tshirts.

I don’t get the idea that ANY dress is too much for a civil ceremony – it’s still a wedding…
