I think you should have it lined or look for a new dress.  I don’t think it’s very modest.  If there were material in the see through areas you would be fine.  I don’t usually have a problem with strapless dresses either unlike some Catholics.  My only opinion of negativity is when you can see through it.

What a beautiful dress! I think lining it would do the trick. Otherwise yes to much for a Catholic church IMO.

I voted it’s fine. But I’m not catholic and really have no idea.

First of all, I think the dress is beautiful 🙂

I’d have it lined though for that bit of extra modesty that’d probably make you more comfortable anyways- been as it’s even occured to you to ask.

All churches are different but I’d say it’s best to line it anyway. It’s a gorgeous dress, lining it should be easy!

I think it would be fine if it were lined. I even feel weird about my dress and it has little straps and stuff, you won’t feel comfortable in that if you wear it as is. its def too much

I wouldn;t have even noticed it was see through if it wasn’t for the boob area!! But yes it does look a bit too much, because you can see the contrast. I’d have it lined so that the boob area wouldn’t be different from the rest…

(i’m not catholic but protestant, and i wouldn’t wear a see through dress in church)

The first thing i noticed was the see thru part.  I’d either have it lined or get a new dress unless you’d like the priest to give you a piece of his mind during your wedding ceremony.

Surprisingly, for someone who had a Catholic wedding, I don’t think it is all that bad. I have seen other dresses where they dip like crazy in the front and back and show more skin. If you aren’t sure maybe ask your priest so there are not any problems the day of.

I like the dress, I would like it better lined. Honestly I don’t get see through wedding dresses. They look like lingerie to me.

different churches are different… if you showed up wearing a see-through dress like that in at least one Catholic church I know of, they either wouldn’t let you get married, or else they’d plop a shawl on you!

As long as you have it lined, it should be fine.  It’s a gorgeous dress otherwise!

Really pretty dress. I think the see through may be too much for church but I would ask my mom and aunts for their opinion on if it is church appropriate as some churches are more strick than others. My church was okay with strapless but I’ve heard of catholic churches requiring covered shoulders for example.

I have heard that wearing a long line bra in the same color can create the look of a lined dress, particuarly as yours has a lot of detailed lace. Maybe you could try this and then remove the long bra for the reception to really let the mid section show all its details. It is truely a georgeous dress and looks great on you.
