Our engagement shoot is on Friday, and I’m kind of freaking out on what to wear. I have a couple dresses picked out, but i recently got this maxi dress that i’m wondering if i could use. I’m worried it might be too patterned/busy (i see warnings against this). what do you girls think?
here’s the dress:

I love the pattern. It will look pretty in pics. I dont like the length tho. I like shorter or maxi length

@Kandiss16: thanks! i totally agree on the length! i’m actually quite short, so the dress is a true maxi on me (brushes the tops of my feet).

Oh I love that dress ..length & all! I don’t think the pattern would be too busy & the color would be phenomenal! With that said, I’m not photographer so take my opinion for it’s worth haha.

I think as long as your Fiance wears a solid shirt you’re fine!

I used photograph brides and we always recommended solid colors because patterns go in and out of fashion, plus, solids are easier to photograph when you’re on location. Plus, the cutout at the knee/calf region will be distracting in some photographs, especially if it’s windy.

@blueprint: I love it! I know some people say that patterns can date a photo but personally I think no-patterns date it even more- So I’d go for it! Especially since you said it’s a true maxi length on you. Photos with no patterns remind me of family church photos for some reason…
