- Wedding: September 2013
I have been working to reduce our wedding budget now that we’re having a destination wedding in New Orleans. Funny how I thought it would cost way less but it’s still like $13,000….which is still good compared to a completely DIY wedding in Ontario that would have cost us $20,000+
My fiancee is adamant that we must booze our guests up to the extreme and i’m thinking that maybe we don’t need 5 hours of open bar…and a massive bill.
Here is how I would like it to play out:
6:30pm-7pm – Wedding Ceremony
7:00pm-7:30pm – Traditional New Orleans Second Line Parade
7:30pm-8pm – Cocktail hour – 30 minutes of open bar.
8pm-9pm – Dinner and speeches – I would like to close the bar now and have WINE at peoples tables. This would cost about $280 vs $1000 for the open bar. I don’t think people will be getting up during dinner to do shots or getting cocktails.
9pm- Open bar fully opens now and goes until midnight.
Do you feel like if you went to this wedding you would have enough time to get your drink on?
