- Wedding: June 2016
I’ve been in three weddings where I was given jewelry as a bridesmaid gift. In one of those weddings all the bridesmaids were given the same exact earrings so we would all match in the wedding, and they were not my style at all. I never wore them again after the wedding. The other two brides gave each bridesmaid a different piece of jewelry and tried to find something that fit the style of each person. In both cases I absolutely loved the jewelry and have worn it over and over again. I did give my bridesmaids jelewlry as part of their gift, but I made sure they knew it was not expected that they wear it in the wedding, and I really tried to find something that fit each one of their individual styles. I think you just need to make sure it’s a gift for them, and not just another thing for the wedding. I will also add that in every wedding I’ve been in, the card that accompanied the gift always contained a heartfelt thank you message, and I appreciated those way more than any gift.
