I’m making someting that’s a mix of the ideas from the pics below (found http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/golden/2009/03/envelope-pocket-love.html and http://blog.paper-source.com/tag/will-you-be-my-bridesmaid/) some kind of dress cutout (fabric or paper) will definitely be involved.
Each bridesmaid will also get a handwritten note. I’ll probably make different card-dress-cutouts to go with the different styles of each of the bridesmaids (they’ll be wearing their own non-bridesmaid dresses in the same color). Is this enough? Should I also send food or a small gift with the packet?

@Shkragoldfish: considering most people don’t do anything to ask, whatever you do i’m sure will be fine 🙂

I would maybe add a.necklace or some type of jewelry that each girl could wear to the wedding 🙂

I’ve been contemplating this myself. I’m going to send a box with the save the date and a cute card. The cookies idea is brilliant though, totally using that as well.

@futuremrsk18: Ha, yeah – I asked over the phone… maybe I should have done something more sweet! So many ideas.

I just sent them each a handmade card — they all loved it and were very surprised. They probably would have thought they hit the lottery if I sent them gifts! I also didn’t want them to feel like I was bribing them to be a Bridesmaid or Best Man — so, I figured I’d save the gifts for another time. I may randomly send them a Bridesmaid or Best Man planner and something else cute in the future.

I voted for the card and the cookies. If you are known for your cookies it seems like a really cute gesture!

Just ringing them and asking would be classed as “enough” anything else is above and beyound the call of duty. So don’t stress! Do with this and perhaps splurge on them after the wedding/close to the wedding as a thank you for all of their help.

Most people don’t do anything extra special when they ask their girls, so I think anything you do will be great! Cute ideas!

I VOTED – CARD (sooo cute) & COOKIES
Cookies would be particularly awesome if they had a Bridal / Love theme going on, and were iced accordingly.
Here is some ideas I found doing a quick GOOGLE on – Bridal Cookies – again, sooo sweet (pun intended)
Hope this helps,

I’m giving them jewelry for the wedding closer to the date. It’ll be cute but inexpensive and won’t be their “present.” We’re over a year out so it’s too early now I think. I’ll give them nice, quality gifts that I pick for each girl probably at the wedding.
The other lil gifts theyd like start seeming more difficult to package & mail. And even without officially knowing theyre in the bridal party and saying theyll do it even if they aren’t, each girl has already volunteered to do something huge- helping to design & assemble all stationery, talking me thru all major decisions, planning Bach & bridal shower, making containers for the day-of jewelry, and happily agreeing to go to my wedding any day, any time, any where.
Maybe for now I’ll do cards and cookies & try to think of something cute or touching to say about that (they love the cards & food/baked goods I make).
