I’ve definitely heard this song played at weddings. It’s not like it’s Closer by Nine Inch Nails or something.

Mlim :  I think it’s a sweet song! It feels romantic and really tender to me, I don’t get sad or sexual vibes from it at all!

I think if it’s your song then you should dance to it.  I remember an interview that Sting did saying that he thought it was really weird so many couples danced to “Every Breath You Take” in the 1980s. I kind of agree with him, but at the same time, that song could come from a significant moment in their relationship.  At any rate, if it means something to you, then who cares what others think.

Mlim :  I was just listening to this song this morning and my understanding of it has changed over the years, from romantic sweet song to “if you’d just have sex with me, I wouldn’t have to wonder if you love me”. I may be wrong in the interpretation but it’s kinda ruining it for me these days. 123 Redlight is worse though, with the same sentiment, for what it’s worth. I’d probably choose something else but I doubt anyone is really dissecting song choices at weddings when it’s not blatant.

I love this song! I have never thought that it was about sex??  Just listened to it again and read the lyrics still cannot see how it would be about sex lol.   To me it seems to be about the person singing it wanting the person they love to show them their love by actions not by words.

I absolutely love this song and always have! I think it’s a beautiful love song and never assumed it was about sex.

This is coming from a girl who chose “as long as you love me” by Justin Bieber as her wedding song. The acoustic version but still some people think the lyrics are morbid but I love it. I say you do whatever you feel is right.

I know! It’s a straightforward stalking song that he wrote when in really bad place after his marriage broke up. Can’t believe anyone would choose it for a wedding song…..

I usually forget other people’s first dance song within like ten minutes so I think you should pick what you want and not worry about what anyone else might think of the song.

Go for it. I think its a beautiful song and it means something to you guys.

Spend my life with you by Tamia and Eric Benet was our first song and I regret it. We really wanted to do John Legend Best I Ever Had. That song was explicity about sex lol. But it was one of the first songs we listened to together when we first met. We let people, including our wedding DJ, talk us out of it.

I think music can mean different things to different people, it only matters what it means to you.

We danced to You Never Can Tell from Pulp Fiction (in Germany you usually do some tacky waltz), I don’t think anybody got why we chose that. It’s still one of my favorite memories from my wedding.

I say go for it 🙂
