Hi! Im having a Caribbean Wedding in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.
In many of the cultural streets they have sell “Piraguas” which is a frozen treat, shaped like a pyramid, made of shaved ice and covered with fruit flavored syrup which are sold by vendors, known as piragüeros, in small colorful pushcarts. More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piragua_(food)
Im thinking of having a “Piraguero” in my reception (with a less colorful cart) for the guest to have some frozen treats before entering the ballroom. Im worried about taking the elegance of the wedding away.
What do you think? Is it a good idea? If you go to a wedding that has a “Piraguero”, would you think is cheap and un-classy?

That sounds really interesting, tasty, and culturally relevant. What’s not elegant about that?

I think its cute. Its true, its not elegant. But who says everything has to be elegant? I would be delighted to see that at a wedding!

I love the idea. I think it is funny and cute idea that I am sure people will enjoy. I love that you are bringing in a little bit of the culture of the area to your wedding. As a PR, that is so nice to see.

Love it! And, honestly, that’s a pretty great-looking cart. You could get some fun lomo-style pictures with that thing!

I agree with you it may not set an elegant tone but I really like the idea and think it would be really fun! Could you have the cart set up for guest as they’re leaving? It would be a refreshing snack after a long night of dancing and partying.
