Read this piece of an email I got from a minister when I asked about him officiating our wedding…
“Because I can only accept a limited number of clients each month, in order to offer the personalized service that you deserve, my rates are a bit higher than some of my colleagues. As a result, my clients are typically a bit more upscale and occasionally even include a VIP or two. Yes, you might be able to find someone who would perform a wedding ceremony for less, but you could also hold your wedding at the local VFW, buy your gown at a thrift store, and arrive at your wedding in the family station wagon. It’s all a matter of what is important to you. And as the old saying goes, “you get what you pay” for. I do not mention this to be boastful, but so that you will understand why my rates may be a bit higher than some others and that the added expense is returned ten-fold in the quality of the ceremony and the service that you receive.”
Does this seem super snobby to anyone else?!

But wait! There’s more!!!
“As an Interfaith Minister with over 30 years of experience and a plethora of glowingly positive testimonials and Wedding Wire reviews, I’m sure I can provide you with exactly the type of ceremony you are looking for.
Through word-of-mouth recommendations I have become extremely popular in the last few years. My services are now in high demand, as evidenced by the fact that my 2013 calendar has been full since April and my 2014 calendar is more than half-full already. “

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe he wrote that!! Even if that guy was within my budget I wouldn’t hire him. How rude!!

And this guy is a MINISTER? Oy vey! I would be looking for someone else!

Trust me, I’m no longer considering him haha.

What the what? Who cares if his clients have included “a VIP or two” ? He’s a minister, not a fashion stylist.
Move on, and let him know you’re clearly not his type of people.

@Jw1724: Yeah…..I am pretty sure I would keep looking. Someone needs to pop his bubble……sounds like a fathead to me!!

I would not let this man anywhere near my wedding. What’s wrong with the VFW, thrift stores and station wagons?!?! Why would I care if you married VIPS? This guy needs to get a grip!

I would have a morbid curiosity to hire him LOL…

@Jw1724: I would only hire him for an outdoor ceremony otherwise his head won’t fit through the doorway.
