Hi there ladies. So here is my little story…
I noticed from another brides blog the headband she had worn on her wedding day. I sent her a message and she told me where she purchased it. I contacted the store and they emailed me back saying the heaband is orginally $450 but since it is discontinued they would sell it to me for $200. Our wedding doesn’t really have a tight budget so I could of spared the $200 and purchased the headband but I thought maybe I could email them back and see if there would be any way I could get the headband cheaper. They responded saying they would sell it to me for $150 because apparently it needs a little repair around the band thread (not quite sure what that means yet) but anyhow this price is definitely a lot better than $200(obviously)! So my question is, would you purchase the headband for $150 if you could afford it or is $150 for a headband just too much for any one event? I just feel that $150 is a lot but I sure do love it! What do you ladies think? Is it worth the purchase?

I would with the plan of selling it after. Would it makes sense to you if it were $75? I paid $100 for my headband. I think it added a lot and I’m glad I had it. But I will never wear it again so will probably sell it…

I think you can find something similar for less online. Beware the overpriced bridal store trap!

Yeah I’m not sure its worth 200, I think you could find something very similar (if not exact on etsy) for much, much cheaper. I say keep looking! 😀

I honestly think it is silly to pay that much for one thing, but if it’s important to you, you should do it! Everyone has their own definition of what is “too much” or what is “worth it”. I agree that you may be able to find something on Etsy for less, but if you are in love with this headband, and its really one of the last ones, go for it!

Sorry, but it doesn’t look like it should cost $150, let alone $450 (that’s just ridiculous!!). Have you tried looking on etsy or whiteaisle.com? I bet you can find something comparable for much less. Keep looking!

I would try to find a high priced tiara on sale. My tiara was originally $200, but I got it on sale for $21 because it was “discontinued”.

I agree with many of you ladies that it doesn’t look like it is worth $150 but it is a designer headband by Jenny Peckham so whether it actually has the original $450 worth of material or work in it I doubt it but it’s the designer label that drives up the price. I’m still torn because I really like it and every time I go to look on etsy I have this picture in my mind and I can’t find anything that is as simple and not so showy. Hmm…I’m still conflicted!

I think if you love it, and can afford it, go for it. I am a pretty frugal bride, but I bought a hair comb for $160.00. I tried it, loved it, and nothing else seemed to compare. I heard the price and let out an expletive in the bridal store, but my Bridesmaid or Best Man who was with me reminded me that its my wedding day, and its ok to splurge a little on something that I love. And believe me, I am so glad she did…. else I would still be sitting here hairpinless and thinking about the one I let go.
You sound like you really are stuck on it. I say GO FOR IT! You’re a bride, and you deserve to have what you want if its not gonna drastically affect your bank account.

Check out glamgal.com. Her headbands are stunning and really well priced. She has something similar to that on her site.

Ok it’s expensive b/c of the ‘name brand’
i just went to Haute Coutour today and they also have a nice line of accessories, SO sparkly – if you are going to pay $200, try other bridal stores. the pix of the bride you posted is VERY nice, and definitely adds to the elegance/expensive look.

@Whimsical.Sprite: Where did you end up getting your headband at a store or was it online? You ended up with a phenomenal deal!

If you love it and can afford it then go for it as nothing else will probably measure up to it. 😉
