My kids ages 6 and 8 are walking me down the aisle. My dress is a one shouler ivory dress. I will most likely have a black sash of some type… My son will be in an all black tux with a fuschia tie and orange type boutineere, my Maid of honor is wearing a black 1 shoulder dress and fuschia shoes. I found these dresses for my daughter (this will be my 3rd dress purchase..just can’t seem to find the one!) My mom said it is absolutley not ok for her to be in black. Considering Im 37 years old and we are paying for this entire wedding I don’t really need her approval, however it does matter. 🙂 Our colors are fuschia, orange with black and white polka dot accents…
Please be honest and tell me if you think these dresses are inappropriate. Sorry about the links…I’m not sure how to post the picture… 🙂

Since you have so much black going on in your wedding, I don’t see why it’s inappropriate. I think both those dresses are adorable. I really love the first one with the pink on top!!

@hampysgirl2013: I like the 2nd one. And with your colors I think black is the best option, she would stick out if she was in all fushia or orange. Plus it will match her brother on the other side of you.

uhm, I think it’s fine… Especially the second dress which I would say was pink with black lace. (is she the 6 or 8 y/o?) I think it’ll be fine, and I don’t think either of the dresses look too “grown up” which could be a fear with black.

I think the dresses are adorable and appropriate!

I really like the second one. The black is broken up more and the fushia still comes thru.

I love the 2nd dress with the black lace! If it was not poofy, I would be looking for it in my size now 🙂

I think they are both super cute…. when you said inappropriate black dress I was expecting to see a slinky little black dress – those are both obviously kids dresses and cute ones at that!

Black is completely appropriate!! I love the second dress much more than the first! Both are very pretty and appropriate for your daughter 🙂

Gosh the second one is adorable! I think it fits in nice with how you’ve described your wedding!

I like the second one better! 🙂

Thank you everyone. I agree she should have some sort of black in her dress…My mom says she should be in ivory like me, but I think that would make my son look out of place. Ideally I would like to find something with a little more “wow” factor for her, but now that she’s 6 I’m not sure all the tulle and glitter is appropriate either. I appreciate your feedback. I have never heard putting a young child in black was considered inappropriate so I thought if anyone would know you girls would 🙂
