Omg, your friend is being a jerk! I think the dress will be great! That rule is severely outdated. You’re still getting married, and people are still coming to celebrate you and your Fiance, even if it isn’t your first time around :).I think you should rock it!

I agree rock the dress, you’re friend shouldn’t have said that!

I think your friend really isn’t a good friend because of what was said to you. It doesn’t matter if you have been married before. You can wear what you want and do things the way you want them. Don’t let that friend get to you; it isn’t worth it. This day is about you are your hubby to be; not about that friend or about what that friend would do if it were them.

Eh, your “friend” can stuff it.

My best friend wore this gown with sky blue as the accent color and she looked like a storybook princess – which I gather is what your Fiance wants, yes?

Buy, wear, enjoy!

Listen,  let me tell you something. I know this is your 3rd, but that should not make it any less special for the two of you. I’m marrying for the second time (to the man I should have married the FIRST time, since we’ve known each other for almost 30 years and rekindled a previous relationship), and I’m wearing a gown, doggone it! I want to look special for my husband-to-be.

You do what makes YOU and your FH happy. If people are offended, they need not come to the wedding (that is, if they’re invited! lol). It’s unfortunate you have to listen to such tacky comments.

People are always going to have something rude to say. Do what makes you both happy- it’s your idea of a great wedding that counts, not theirs.

I will play devils advocate here…kind of…

I can see where your friend is coming from, you have been  married twice which distracts from the symbolism of what a wedding gown should represent. (or more traditionally represents)

BUT on the other hand (and might i add i TOTALLY disagree that she actually TOLD YOU THAT)

This is your day with your new forever husband and if thats what you guys want, then thats what you guys should do…especially if it makes you happy!

Go check out the encore section on the boards, you’ll see over there that there are MANY brides that are wearing white.  It isn’t inappropriate in my eyes.  I say, wear what you want!  I strongly believe that all brides, whether they’re a first time bride or an encore bride, should feel beautiful and comfortable on their wedding day.  Rock the dress you want, girl!

Definitely wear the dress :-). It is very pretty and it is special since you and Fiance picked it out together!

O wear that dress proudly and reconsider that friend!

You should wear that dress proudly! No one has the right to tell you which dress you should wear! Best of luck!

Wear whatever you want! Your friend is being a jerkface.

I can’t believe any friend would say something so hurtful. Just because you’ve married before doesn’t make this any less special. You do whatever feels right for you! And that dress is amazing by the way!
