I think Conner Irwin is a nice name! And I bet he’ll appreciate the significance of his middle name when he’s older.

First of all, I think it is a wonderful way to honor your grandfathers memory.

Second, middle names are rarely used, so there isn’t too much of an issue with it sounding somewhat old. My middle name is very old fashioned, but it is after my grandmother so I appreciate it.

I love that as a middle name, and the sentiment behind it makes it even better!

I think in 10 years, Irwin will stand up a lot better than Apple! My son’s middle name is Riley. I picked that *because* I wanted something old, it was my great uncle’s name after all, but apparently it’s coming back. So, maybe by the time you have children, the name Irwin won’t be “old” anymore! ๐Ÿ™‚ Personally, I don’t think I would care if it were old or not because of the signifigance of it to you.

I know an Irwin, he’s about 25 too so I don’t think it’s an “old” name. I like it. And I love Connor Irwin for a boy, it’s a strong, wonderful name. =)

I work in a school, and I would say over 50% of children have older sounding middle names (ie, Howard), but I know that when I read them, they are probably names that are used to honor someone. I think that is way more important that if it’s too old…no one really uses middles names anyway, and if someone wants to ask about it, he will have a memorable story to tell.

Connor Irwin is a great name!

Especially with Irwin having a personal, touching meaning to you I think it’s a perfect middle name.  And since middle names aren’t often used I don’t think it matters if it sounds old.
