Is it normal for your body shape to change a LOT in only a few years? What I mean is, my natural waistline seems to have moved up about an inch from where it was when I was 19 (2 1/2 years ago). It used to be more or less level with my navel, but now it’s about a full inch above my navel. I mean, I’ve gotten “hippier” with age, but now it seems like I’m more or less straight from the bust with a rather small indent for a waist…and then BOOM, the hips. It’s not like there’s fat there, either–it’s all bone, from what I can feel. Is it natural for that big a change to occur?
I suck at describing this stuff, so here’s a craptacular Paint illustration of what I’m talking about. First one is what my general shape looked like 2 1/2 years ago, and the second is what it’s like now…

Well, if you are a late bloomer, your hip bones may have grown as you got older. They are one of the last things to catch up (it starts with the extremities which is why teens can look awkward and gangly, and then the growth moves toward the central bones like the ribs and hips to catch up) I had something very similar happen, nothing to worry about.

are you carrying extra weight in your hip/waist/stomach area? it could just be an illusion due to some extra weight in those areas.

I tend to carry all my weight in the hip/thigh area, not much in the waist or stomach. It just seems like my waist has totally disappeared…

Women don’t finish maturing until their early 20s.
My body changed a lot through out this time!
