HA! That is an extremely impressive feat…Based on my experience with my own 10lb puppy whom we believe to be a Jack Russell mix (JRs are known for their jumping abilities) I’d say that is NOT normal and congrats on your super-dog!

By The Way, I am obsessed with Pomeranians and yours is too adorable for words!! EEEEEEK!

@camrie:  i have no suggestions on if this is normal or not for a pom, but i had to comment on how proud of herself she looks in the pic where youre measuring her!  adorable!  i have a pit, and she climbs things all. the. time.  but i cant even see anything she couldve climbed up on there – its crazy!

I wouldn’t say it’s completely unheard of to have a dog of that size jump over that gate.  My dogs can jump about 3 times their body height.  Just to be sure though, maybe tape some cardboard to the gate for a little while to see if that helps?

Super cute dog!  I love her!

I had a yorkie and it was amazing what he could squeeze through. Even more amazing was what he could jump over. He could straight clear a 4′ fence…and if he had a running start he could hit about 4’6.

I say it’s totally possible that she did either. I say get her a cape regardless and then set up a video camera and figure out exactly what she’s doing.

ETA: your dog is beyond adorable 🙂

I’m putting in a vote for somehow sqeezing through.

Our 45 lb lab mix somehow figured out how to unlatch one of the two latches on her crate and we’d come home to her running around the apartment with the crate only 1/2 latched.  I can see how big (and by that I mean small) of a gap the 1/2 latched crate provides and it is hard to believe that she can squeeze through it!

lol okay first of all? naming a dog bitey? hilarious, and also tempting fate haha. hopefully not a self-fulfilling prophecy? 🙂

also… it is definitely not normal, but i believe it. motivated pets do weird things lol.

lastly– loove the pic of her with the measuring tape. too funny. and you should definitely buy a cape. 🙂

@Mrs.KMM: When we got our second yorkie we put them in crate together and they figured out if they dug hard enough at the bottom one (the same one with the freaky jumping abilities) could sneak through, then he would unlatch the gate from the outside….we had to start using clips to clip the bottom and the latch shut.
