So yesterday I checkEd into a hotel. My Fiance met me after, so I was alone when I got there. It was already about 7:45pm. My Fiance got to the too and we decided to go get something to eat. It was about 9pm. There was a note on the driver side window. Fiance got the note and it read, “Hi. You’re beautiful. What is a pretty girl like you doing here?…” Then he added his phone number and his name. My Fiance was furious. It was an out of county number, so he looked at every license plate to see if it was out of county. He ended up calling the number and left a message. He said, “Hi Adam. Thank you my wife is beautiful and you creeped her out with your note. Don’t ever leave anymore notes on her car again.”
Now that I think about it, it is pretty creepy for someone to do that. Especially at a hotel. Did he expect me to call a strange guys number that I have never seen before. Weird. Fiance was upset because he said that’s creepy and shouldn’t be doing shit like that.

I don’t really think it’s that creepy. I’ve had notes left on my car before and my husband and I just thought it was funny and then threw it away.

@OtterHalf: yeah. I didn’t think so either. But when you’re at a hotel alone and don’t know who the person is. For a girl, can be kinda creepy.

I don’t think it’s that creepy. A little desperate, yes, but Darling Husband & I probably would have just laughed it haha. Each to their own though ;]

Eh not that creepy. I don’t think my dh would call the number and leave a voicemail though lol

I’ve had notes left on my car and while it is a bit creepy knowing someone was watching you, I always ignore the note. I guess it’s pretty creppy knowing you’re at a hotel and how he worded the note!

@arabesque: that’s the only creepy part. That I’m at a hotel that’s pretty secluded. Not a lot of rooms and pretty quiet. And I’m alone. My Fiance left out of town for the day. Other than that, I wouldn’t think much into it. And he knows where my room is. It’s all open face rooms. I saw one man outside when I checked in. I’m thinking it was him. And it’s more of a motel, not a hotel. Lo. Like a Norman Bates motel. Lol

@echolove: creepy? no. desperate? yes. bad approach (if you were single lol)? FOR SURE. It is a bit …. strange lol but to be honest, if it was worded differently like “I just had to let you know that I think you are incredibly beautiful and if given the opportunity I would love to meet you! heres my number just in case! enjoy your day, insert name”, then it would be kind of flattering. Like a secret admirer. But given the whole “whats a pretty girl like you doing here?…” is what makes it creeper-ish. Bad wording and a really bold approach. btw, I would probably still not callthe number, even if it was worded right and all that. I would be momentarily flattered in my mind though like “I guess my milkshake does bring all the boys to yard still! boom!” but then I would crumble up that paper and move on. Fiance would probably have just laughed at it.
now im going to add this because I think it’s a valid possibility. I would even apply this if it were me so don’t take offense! lol I have to ask though…. what kind of hotel is this? if this is a shady spot and this dude saw you alone checking into a hotel its possible that he thought you were a “working girl”. That does happen, and this could have been attempt to see if that is in fact what you were. I mean, if you were at a more average hotel in a normal area, then forget this part of the post lol but if you were in a more shady area, who knows! There are some hotels that look normal, but are notoriously known for prostitution and things like that. At one of those kinds of places, notes like that and other practices are “signals” that the guy is interested in the girl (working girl)
Either way, no matter what, it’s not a very effective way to get a chick to post a note like that on the car lol. I can’t see it being recieved well no matter how you twist it.

@echolove: Really, really creepy!!!! I can’t believe it’s happened to other people too!! Theworst I’ve gotten is a couple of beeps from cars or someone trying to chat me up at bus stops. But stalker behaviour? Thank God, no!

INCREDIBLY creepy and weird. The only reason I can think for doing this is that he thought you might be a working girl, like PP suggested, especially if the hotel is shady.

As someone who’s been stalked, drugged and nearly killed (yes, really) I take all notes like that very seriously. Especially if alone. It was probably harmless but keep an eye out for any other weird behavior. Be extra careful when your Fiance is not there.

I’ve had this happen before where a guy left a note on my car at work. Apparently he’d seen me walking back from the courthouse (I worked in an attorney’s office that was a block away) and left a note on the only car in the lot. I was creeped the hell out and my boss (also the city judge) called the number and did the whole “Who are you, do you know who I am, son? Leave her alone or else.” then laughed and laughed at my expense.
Darling Husband (FI at the time) also found it funny. I found it creepy. They found it funny. Men.

I find that creepy, but not “call the cops” kind of creepy. haha. But its a great story. I’m glad that it didn’t turn out badly!

@echolove: creepy, not really, a bit desperate, yes. i’ve had notes left on my car in parking lots more than once.
op: wait a minute, why are you still booking hotel rooms? are you not in your apartment yet? it’s been over a month.

Just a once time thing I wouldn’t consider it creepy and throw it away. If it kept on happening on a regular basis I’d keep them to see if the writing, wording, and/or number are similar. That is creepy and will get taken care of.
