Can I handwrite my escort cards? It would just be easier because I’m adding decorative paper/ rhinestone accents on them and I would like to start on them sooner rather than later. Granted I will definitely have time to do them in the two weeks before the wedding if I decide to print them first and then add the decoration, but I just really have the itch to do them NOW!

I’d much prefer a handwritten escort card

If you have very nice handwriting, do it by hand. (Me? Hire a calligrapher? I AM the calligrapher!) If your handwriting looks like my fiance’s (like a first-grader’s chicken scratch), goodness, no.

I voted maybe, but I meant to hit ‘sure!’ Sorry! I do think that handwritten escort cards look great :).

Sure! The only downside to not doing it right before the wedding is that you don’t have your final RSVP counts yet. So, you’ll probably end up making a lot more than you need to (just to be safe rather than sorry so you don’t end up with a ton to do at the last minute). I’d wait to write in table numbers until a day or two before your wedding – most people have guests who cancel up till the last minute….that way you don’t have to cross numbers out and ruin the look of the cards!

I hand wrote ours and it turned out fine. As long as people can read them!
