So i purchase my dress not that long ago. I didn’t spend much on it. After reading some of the boards on here the poofy skirt with pick-ups is considered “out of style” by so many. Am I going to look ridiculous in something that is out dated?

I think your dress is beautiful! I’ve never seen one like it before! I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

No its not outdated. My wedding dress is from 2009 collection and I love it. I happen to not like the newer designs from my dress maker.
if you like it, then go w/ it.

Always remember that every post you read is only one person’s opinion and nothing says they are right!

Pick-ups are out? Color me clueless. I saw a ton of pick-ups when I went to try on my dress in December. I’m not personally a fan, but that’s just my taste. I certainly don’t think it’s out-dated. Besides, if you love it, who cares?

I think your dress is BEAUTIFUL and has some wonderful detailing!

its a beautiful dress. those posts are written by people who dont like pick-ups, like you might not like a certain feature of a dress, but it doesnt mean its out…
Both of my dresses are from a 2009 collection, so they are definately OUT…….but i love them and thats all that counts.
Please dont let others give you dress regrets, if YOU didnt like it then thats different , but you love it, so dont let anyone burst your bubble.
Thinking about it and editing this post, i am quite a hypocrite, because it was someone on here that said something negative about MY dress that made me order another one. now i am stuck with 2 dresses and i really love them both, admittedly i love the newer one more, but i might think about wearing both of them on the day…….one for the ceremony and one for the reception……

“Style” is very subjective and opinions may vary, if you like it that’s all that matters! 🙂

Ok thanks guys. It wasn’t just people on here that spurred the thoughts. Some of my family (step sisters) said it was ugly/out of style/over done and too flamboyant. I just wrote them off because they suck anyway but then I started reading on here how it wasn’t a good choice and it started to bug me. I love my dress but just didn’t like the snide comments from my family. It was just reinforced on here. Not anyone targeting me really just the opinions of others. BUt thank you all you made me relax on it. I love my dress very much and the slightly antique feel it has.

Pickups are not out… people keep saying thet because they don’t like them. Ignore them I have a ballgown with lots of beading and hear people say horrible things about that style of dress allllll the time. What matters is that you like it! I think it’s pretty =) I’m pretty sure my dress is from 2007 but it’s still on the collections list for sale so I don’t know how that works haha.

Its gorgeous and who cares what other people think…all that matters is what you think and how you feel in it!!!!!!

I love the gold detailing. It makes your dress very unique, which in turn will make you a unique bride. Bonus!

@Corilee13 I have to say, your dress is one of the few dresses that I say is beautiful! (from the bottom of my heart), not dated, not old-fashion, but it is really unique, elegant and great.
Some people say pickup style is old, this is their feelings. Everyone has different feelings and there is no dress on earth can please all the human beings. Just like some people like Vera Wang gowns, some hate them; some like Maggie, some hate them. This is totally a personal preference. I am sure for those who said pick-ups are old style, their gowns also have some that we like and we don’t like.
I think as long as you are happy with your great dress, you will be the most beautiful bride of your guy. Who cares what the others think! Every bride is unique!

It’s your day – wear what you like and feel comfortable and beautiful in. You can’t please everyone and what someone might call dated, someone else might call timeless.
