It would probably make me laugh the first time I saw all 3 names together – like on an xmas card, but I know a couple named Harry and Gerry and after the initial “hah!” I stopped thinking about it. If you really like the name I don’t think you should let the rhyming stop you.

I don’t think it should matter, if you guys like the name then go for it! It can be cute!

@nearlymarriedlass:  if you do that for one child,  will subsequent one (s) be included?  Something to think about.

You could always name your second child William and call him Willy πŸ˜‰

I think it’s cute though if you guys like the name! I might laugh at first but than I would just think it was cute!

Honestly, I would try to find another name. I would avoid giving my daughter a name which rhymed with mine.

@nearlymarriedlass:  I don’t think it’s ridiculous or anything.  I wouldn’t personally want to do that, but if you really like the name, you shouldn’t feel like you can’t use it just because it rhymes.

For what it’s worth, my fiance’s brother and sister-in-law both have names ending in the letter Y (well, his brother’s nickname that he always goes by ends in Y).  They have two little girls, and they both have names ending in Y as well.  I’m not sure if they did it on purpose, but I always thought it was kind of cute.  None of the names rhyme, but they all sound like they go together (if that makes sense).

@nearlymarriedlass:  I’m guessing that since you spelled Lilly with two ‘l’s it’s going to be short for Lillian (can’t think why else) which would mean that her name doesn’t always have to rhyme with yours. If that’s the case then yeah, I think Lilly, Milly, and Billy could be cute. As long as her name doesn’t automatically have to rhyme with yours and she gets to have her own identity outside of the matching set it will be fine.

I wouldn’t go for it unless you name her Lilian or something.
