Im usually for the mismatched rings, but for some reason, in your case, I think I’d like it better with a matching band! Now with that being said, it still does look very beautiful and I don’t think that any wedding band could make your ring look bad! It is a fabulous ring!

I added a poll! Great idea Ceebree.
@peanut-sue – I tried it with a matching eternity ring and it was just so boring to me. Maybe if this band had been dantier.
Now how do I get people to vote on a poll?!

First off let me say I love your e-ring!!! I’m traditional were I love a wedding band with an e-ring…however, your the one wearing it and have to love it. I do think the band looks nice with your e-ring, I personally would have gone with something that matches the band on your e-ring..but if you like the mismatched look…go for it! I do think they are both really pretty!
I’m sure I wasn’t much help, but my point is wear what YOU like!

Bees, I guess I should ask my next question. After having it for a day I’m good and mad that this jeweler promised me the bands would match. That is my only issue with this set. The witdth doesn’t match! I’m so non-confrontational it isn’t funny. However, for having something you want for the rest of your life, is it unreasonable of me to take it back and request a complete redo on the shank width and size to get it perfectly matched? I’m honestly mad right now about it. I walked in with a tshirt and tennis shoes. So maybe he didn’t worry about me? (?) That might be complete paranoia. This would require a lot of work on it on their part I think and I sort of feel bridezilla over here. I don’t want to be like that! But it doesn’t match! What do you gals think?

I LOVE IT! I think it’s so gorgeous!!!

I like it, but if you do not like it I don’t thinks it’s unreasonable at all for you to take it back and request a redo

I love the wedding band with your ring! (and i’m someone who got a matchy matchy band). but i would definitely get the widths to match, that would bother me otherwise.

So I wanted a stack for my set for a little while, and I had a hell of a time finding a spacer that I liked–I think the problem is that, with pave, the diamonds stick up above the metal, so pave rings are always very “tall” even when they’re not very wide. I think that’s the problem that’s happening with your ring and band, especially on the sides. I personally don’t really like it. I’d go with a taller band of some kind–maybe a square-shaped plain band, if you don’t like the pave band look?
Not that you asked for this, lol, but I ended up really liking the matchy look with mine, so here’s a picture just in case it helps! 🙂

I love mismatched sets and I think yours is gorgeous! I love the way the shapes on the band play on the shape of the pear.
As for your update- I agree with you that it would look better if the bands were similar widths. I can totally relate to not wanting to be a bridezilla. You are NOT being unreasonable at all for wanting the jeweler to provide you with something that you want and he said he could and would do! You are the one who has to wear the band every day and you are paying for a service. You should totally request the re-do. If you are nervous about doing it yourself, is it possible your Fiance could go with you and handle it?

sooo pretty with the band!

I would never have thought twice about width matching — I think it looks perfect as is.
I think it would look nicer with a very thin plain gold band or pave diamond band.

I love the set together. It’s true that you lose some of the pear shape with a band, but I think that would happen with any band, not this one in particular. I have an ering a lot like yours (except with a marquise), and I’m looking at bands a lot like the one you chose.

- Wedding: April 2013 - A court...
The only thing that bothers me is that the pear looks bigger size wise so it sticks out more than the band. But they’re both pretty so I like them together. 🙂

@jewelsinme: I prefer it without that band, I think because of the difference in width.
