I don’t know about matchy matchy, so much as… too much? Your dress has so much fabulous intricate detail already, I don’t think it needs one! 🙂

I don’t think it really needs it. It is pretty intricate already. I think your dress is going to be really great once it’s altered! I say let it stand on it’s own, and maybe wear a flashy necklace or earings.

I can see why she said to add a belt as a lot do right now. Does the shop have a belt similar to the one you like so you can try it out before you buy one? You may love it or hate it! With or without a belt it’s a beautiful dress.

I think a belt would be nice to define your waist a little more, but that might happen naturally once the dress is altered properly. But I definitely think the crystal sash, while gorgeous, is too much with the detail already on your dress. What about a tulle/horsehair sash, something plain instead? I think it’s beautiful without the sash though.

@mysa8:  I would go with a plain sash made out of tulle/organza like PP stated. I think the crystals definitely takes away from the beauty of the dress! 🙂

I don’t think it would be matchy-matchy, but I do think it would be overkill.

If you want a sash, I think a plain slik one would be much more flattering to the over all look.

It’s a beautiful dress. But adding a belt would flatter your figure more.. You have a beautiful shape and adding a sash would make your curves stand out and rock. It might be to much. Maybe just a plain one with no details. your dress has a lot of pretty details on it already. It’s probably one of the reason you’re buying it. Something plain would break it up, add curves but not take away from your dress.

Your dress as well as the sash are both gorgeous, but I don’t think the two will work well together. I think maybe a simpler flower sash maybe? Anyway to try your dress with a few different sashes then repost pics? It would def help better to see it with it.

I’m going to go against the grain here and say that I would probably wear the dress and the original sash together.  Yes – there is a lot going on, but I love it.  They’re fun together!!!

I would do a plain satin sash with nothing on it

I would go without a sash or wear a really plain ribbon one.
