I like the satin one better. I’m not a fan of lace, but I think even if I was, the satin one just looks amazing on you. The second one looks good, too, but is less elegant and more trendy than the satin one.

I love how the satin one looks on you! That style still feels currrent to me. Everything will look dated at some point anyway.

Yes the dress is very dated but it’s the style not the material. There are plenty of satin dresses out there that are much more modern in style so I would suggest you keep looking!

holly178 : I think you should get whatever you want for your wedding, regardless of what the current fashion dictates. That said, since you asked, yes they are both dated looking to me. If I saw a random wedding photo with either one I’d guess they were from 2000-2005. No offense intended at all, lovely gowns, just thought I’d answer 🙂

I wouldn’t worry about looking dated, just judge how you feel and look in the dress and what you want. You look great in both, my personal taste is more towards the second dress.

Option #2 is absolutely beautiful! I would pick that!

I don’t like satin. I am very biased cause this type of plisse satin is used for curtains in Esatetn European public administrative offices….
Second one I think is very pretty.
But in any case you have amazing body shape, you can probably wear a potatoes sack and rock it! So don’t overthink it and just go with your gut

holly178 : I do kind of think the combination of satin + ruching + beaded belt is dated. I LOVE the second dress, its so beautiful and romantic!

I think it’s the rouching that dates it more than the satin. I happen to really like it on you.
I had a plain satin dress. Look at designers like rosa clara and Jesus Peiro if you’d like to see satin dresses.

I love the first one although I’m slightly bias as my dress was satin with ruching I love the traditional look for a wedding dress, some of these more modern styles are nice but don’t seem like wedding dresses to me

holly178 : The first is the adorae isn’t it? I think it looks great on you, really shows off your figure, I do though like the second dress too. What theme is your day / what sort of feel are you planning for?

I really prefer the first dress. I think it looks perfect on you. I was surprised to see all the negative comments, but I know I’m not up on all the fasion trends. I just think that one looks the best. As a guest, it would never occur to me that it was dated at all.

I guess it is a matter of opinion, but is it dated or classic?? Certain style dresses become popular at certain times and then their popularity wanes again. I think satin is a classic material- and, it looks great on you. The second dress is beautiful and may be a more trendy style right now, but which one do you LOVE? I can guarantee that once it is your wedding day, people aren’t going to look at you and say “oh, how date..” (and, if they do, they should go home!). You will look beautiful in either dress, so pick the one that you love.

The first dress is not my taste so I’m afraid I’m bias, I actually think the second dress looks gorgeous on you and that train is to die for! I’m a sucker for a nice back of a dress

I wore a very similar dress for my wedding 2 weeks ago. It was a sample from several years ago.
It looked amazing, I felt beautiful and got compliments on it all night. Get what you love.
It has a very similar long train and here is a picture of it bustled. I wanted a glamourous look and my bridesmaids all wore satin and lace mismatched dresses in plum.
