No, definitely not tacky. I just found out about them while planning our wedding, and I actually think they’re pretty hip.

Saves cash and more importantly, saves trees.

I never knew that people did that until I went to a wedding last spring that had it. I thought it was so cute and a great idea – honestly I didn’t even think about why they did it that way. I thought that it was just a cute idea by the bride, so I wasn’t thinking about the fact that it was saving them money to do it that way at all.

I think they’re a great idea!  Easy, cheap, and cute!  We only sent out postcards, with a link to our website. Postage is ~$.20 cheaper than regular stamps too (US).

I don’t think they’re tacky at all. The only reason we didn’t use them was because we were afraid they’d get lost in the mail. First class seemed more reliable. But then I don’t mail many postcards between the 50 states.

i’d do it, but instead i’m having rsvp through our website. even cheaper and some will probably find it tacky or inconvienent, but times have changed and i’m so over naysayers. 🙂

FH doesn’t like the idea of people’s RSVP info being right out there for anyone to see, but I doubt anybody at the post office will be making a mental note of Aunt Jane’s preference for chicken, etc… haha

I want to do postcards because the thought of all those envelopes ending up in the recycling bin (or worse) makes me a little uncomfortable. We’ll see who wins!

Postcards are great! They are one less thing to fuss with: guests fill it out and drop it in the mail, the host gets them and can file them without opening envelopes and cards (a big deal especially when you get 100+ within a few days).

    Plus it saves trees 🙂
