I am attending a wedding today of someone from my fiances work and it is about 35 degrees out today! I was planning on wearing a dress but the ceremony is going to be outside, and possibly the reception too. I was wondering if you think that a pair of slacks and a nice shirt/coat would be appropriate? It is at a country club…but not a super fancy one.

Sounds good to me! 35 degrees is COLD! I think slacks and a nice shirt can be just as dressy (if not more so) as a dress. I’m thinking of the cute outfits I always see at Banana Republic or JCrew… they’re very classy and appropriately dressy. Have fun! 🙂

If they’re a feminine cut, you should be fine, I’d think – especially if you have some nice jewelry or a pretty scarf to wear with them, and especially if you’ll still be wearing pretty feminine shoes.

I was thinking about wearing a lower pair of heals (1.5 inch) dont have any dressy scarves unfortunately, just some casual ones from American Eagle.

It sounds fine. I 0wuld also suggest, tights and boots paired with a skirt or dress which could be a nice way to be a bit more formal and still stay warm.

I think your fine and you can totally dress an outfit like that up with accessories if your still feeling it’s a little informal. Ugh it sounds way to cold to be freezing you bum off in a dress! Stay warm

I think its fine as long as its dressed up and not like just trousers with a button front oxford. I agree that a nice piece of jewelry could be a quick touch to get it a little more dressy
