I have been obsessing over a particular part of a dress that I’m in love. I love the off the shoulder crystal sleeves on this Ines Di sant because i’ve never seen any other dress have this feature. However, i’m in love with lace dresses as well. would it be too much to throw these sleeves on an all lace gown? sorry the order of the pics got messed up but you can see the front of the ines de santo, then the lace dress i like, then the back of the ines di santo. can you have crystal detail like this on an all lace dress or is just too much?!?!? HELP

I’m not sure they’d work together. I think the crystal works on the first dress because the fabric is simple and doesn’t have much detail. Lace is all detail and texture, so I think it would compete with the crystal sleeves.

It looks a little much for my taste…what about organza off the shoulder sleeve add-ons? like this:

I prefer the lace dress, but I think it would be nice if you added a 1 inch thic crystal best to it. I don’t think it needs anything more than that.
Have you tried either gowns on yet? I would do that before stressing about alterations.

I’d go with straps in lace that matches the dress, and then add some crystals. The heavily encrusted look of the first dress may be a bit much, though without the silver background, I think some sort of sleeve/strap would look great with the style of the lace dress. But again, don’t go quite so heavy on the beading as the first dress.

I loooove the lace gown. So beautiful! Though I do think the crystal straps would clash a bit, how about a crystal sash to add some sparkle?

I must be the odd gal out because I love the idea of the crystal sleeves with the lace dress. I think it will depend on the type/color/size of crystals used. Maybe lace sleeves shaped like the Ines gown that have crystals sprinkled throughout…
