I had my makeup trial the other day. As someone who wears only mascara, I loved seeing myself all glammed up. I went and showed my fiancé and he says, “you look nice but that’s just… a lot”. And he was sort of put off. Then we had our meeting with our commissioner a few days later and she kept going on about not overdoing the makeup and not looking like your normal self
I just wanna look like a babe on my big day!
Anyway. What do you think? What was your makeup like or going to be? Is this too much?

Your makeup looks great! Mine looks a little darker than that, but about the same amount. I wanted to feel glammed up also and do something different. You look great!

No, it is not too much. The face is beautiful and will show up nicely in pictures.

Is this airbrush or traditional?
Ive heard that you need more than you think for the camera. I think it looks amazing!

I think it looks great but if you don’t usually wear a lot of makeup I could see why other people would be surprised to see it. It works the other way too, I know a girl who wears heavy makeup everyday and one day she didn’t wear it and people kept saying how terrible she looked but really they just weren’t used to it. The most important thing is that your comfortable and happy with how you look!

jennkneefur : Looks gorgeous to me! I was a little shocked when I looked at my own face in the mirror with false lashes and black mascara (I must admit, I wiped a little under-eye liner off after the makeup artist left on my wedding day). But in photos, it looked really amazing (if I may say so myself, haha). I think your makeup will be perfect for photos!

No way! You look amazing. That would be a bit much for an everyday look but for your wedding it’s perfect. Your fiancé was only seeing the makeup… not the whole look together- dress, hair, makeup.

I’m incredibly picky makeup and that’s beautiful.

The only thing that’s OTT, IMO, is the lashes. You look gorgeous, and most of it looks natural-but-better, but the lashes are huge and dramatically false. I realize this often translates well to photos, though, so you may prefer to keep them that way.

I think that looks really nice! I had my hair trial the other day and something my stylist said may help you here: Remember that you’ll be all glammed up in your fancy dress and everything, not in your casual everyday clothes. (She said and have your makeup done, but in your case it’ll be having your hair done!) So it might seem out of place now, but it’ll all go together for the wedding.

So pretty!!!! Not too much at all. It will look beautiful and natural in photos.

While I like the look of the makeup, if your finace doesn’t like it are you still going to do it? I think its okay if you do, because its your face and you should be happy with you. However, I would personally feel self concious knowing he already made a negative comment about it.

if you dont typically wear a lot of makeup to begin with in everyday life, then yeah i would expect for anyone to say “thats a lot”. its normal. I dont wear a ton in everyday life, but i wore quite a bit on my wedding day.
i think it looks great, i wouldnt take a guys opinion on makeup very seriously anyways future husband or not. Its the last thing he’ll be thinking about on the big day anyways.
