I am attending two weddings this July, a week apart. I’ve been eyeing this dress for a few days now, but I’m wondering if the top/back is too revealing? The first wedding is a backyard wedding and the second one is in a (poorly air-conditioned) banquet hall, which means it will likely be too hot to cover up in both cases. Would you find this dress inappropriate?

I don’t think so at all!! The fact that it’s long offsets the skin you’re showing up top!
as long as they both are on the causal side I’d say you’re fine!! Love the dress btw!

I think it’s inappropriate not for its back-less-ness but for its length. I would not wear a floor-length gown unless the wedding was a black-tie event. Just my $0.02.

I don’t find it inappropriate at all. Slightly bridesmaid dress looking Tho. Not sure if that matters?

no but bring a wrap- you’re bound to get a bit chilly 🙂

I don’t find it inappropriate and it’s a beautiful dress. I don’t think the length matters, since this is clearly not a formal gown.

I think it’s fine. Have you tried it on? The fabric may not be breathable.
p.s. women wear maxi dresses in the daytime all the time

The dress is appropriate to wear to both weddings but I do agree that longer length makes it more formal and I am not sure that goes well with the two wedding styles you described.

I don’t think it’s inappropriate at all. Length does not make a dress formal. Maxi dresses are the best!

I think it’s fine!
Also, I personally wouldn’t worry about the PPs saying the length makes it too formal for the weddings you described. It’s clearly a more smart-casual maxi dress and not an evening dress.
