Yeah, this has been a long running rumor. Same with Paul McCartney. I think Sinbad might be among the un-dead as well.

Sad to hear about Sherman Hemsley’s passing.

Shocked though to hear that Dr. Sally Ride (America’s First Woman in Space… circa 1983) died yesterday from Pancreatic Cancer (this cancer is truly becoming the silent killer… and has taken out so many great people far too young).  Sally was only 61.

Ms Ride was a very private person, she told virtually no one about her disease (which she battled for 17 months), nor of her long time relationship (27 Years) with her partner Tam O’Shaughnessy.

Ms. O’Shaughnessy co-authored 4 books with Dr Ride, and herself is a Professor Emerita of the School of Psychology at San Diego State University, as well as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of the Ride Foundation’s Sally Ride Centre.

Ms Ride accomplished great things in life, both as a scientist and as a woman… helping to shatter that “glass ceiling”… and it looks as though her legacy in death may be just as remarkable in that she will now be a tangible role model for gay women everywhere.
