Although I’m still a waiting bee, last year SO and I went to a vineyard in town and I ended up grabbing their banquet hall brochure. The guy that gave us the private wine tasting showed us the banquet hall, and we both really liked it. I have held on to this brochure for almost a year now, and at this time I have no concept on what an affordable venue looks like. See below.
Here is what is included with the use of the facility:
Includes room from 9am to midnight
Water, Tea, Ice, Coffee
Projectors for a slide show & microphones
Setup and tear down of table and chairs
What are your thoughts?

That sounds quite reasonable from what I’ve seen.

I think that sounds pretty good! Where I live, a price like that will get you a venue for two hours, max!

That’s actually a great price! At least for around here it would be.

In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, that would be a VERY good deal! If it’s a place you and your guy have enjoyed going together, that makes it even more special. Good luck – let us know what you decide and post photos!

Don’t know where you are, but here in Chicago, that’s an excellent deal.

for the whole day, with all that? its a great deal!

That is like crazy cheap compared to the places we’ve been seeing around here! congrats!

That sounds like a fantastic deal.

Thanks, gals. I feel much better! I had no idea if $1875 was a decent deal or not. I did like how long we would have the room that day. That’s a LONG time. We would probably have our ceremony and the reception there. If we wanted the room the day before, we could have it from 9am to 6pm for an additional $250. So not bad, right??
I am pretty sure SO is going to propose on a cruise we are going on in a couple of weeks. And I’d love a fall wedding, so booking the venue would probably be the first thing on the list when we return if we decide to have the wedding a year from now.
It looks if we want to serve wine at the wedding, they will give us a 15% case discount. Is that a good perk, or do most venues give you some kind of break on your alcohol?

That’s cheap…. the venue I rented in Chicago gives you a blank room without any furniture for $4500. You can always go banquet route if you want everything included for one lump sum.

@RunningNewbie: For what it’s worth, if you can afford it, go for the extra day. Rehearsal time! It can’t hurt, especially for a price like that. And 15% off the wine sounds good! I don’t think most venues do that. Maybe other wineries, but that would probably be it.

Sounds extremely reasonable! I looked into vineyards near me and many cost $10,000 just to RENT!

That is crazy cheap, I’d be all over it.
