I’m getting a personal gift for each of my BMs (a leatherbound book for the reader, a nice totebag for the shopper) and thought I ought to give more. I plan on taking them for mani/pedis the day before the wedding – can this also be considered a gift? Or is this just something that is expected anyway?

Hi VagabondGurl, I think that the personal gift and the manipedi are GREAT gifts. I am doing the same thing for my girls and throwing in the Future Mother-In-Law and my mom.

Thanks for the feedback (hi tks!)… I was a bit concerned because so many people say your gift shouldn’t be wedding related, but I think a little pampering isn’t technically just for the wedding!

I think it is fine as long as you give a personal gift. I think when brides say their only gift is hair, make-up, etc. I feel like it is more for them than for the girls. I think what you’re doing is very nice.

Anytime someone pays to pamper me I consider it a gift.. no matter what the reason they are doing so! I think your gift is fabulous 🙂

I think as long as you’re giving a small additional, personal gift, then considering the mani/pedis to be a part of the attendant gift makes sense. You wouldn’t want that to be the entire gift, of course, since they probably wouldn’t be getting their nails done if you weren’t telling them to. 🙂
