I wore a tulle dress with a train on the beach. I didn’t drag any sand and my dress didn’t get dirty.

I think you can wear any dress you love.

I agree with PPs.  My dress has tulle on the bottom and I am having a beach wedding too!

Mine didn’t get sandy or dirty from the sand, but there was some seaweed out there that got caught up in my dress, but it was no big deal to just pick it out:)  That’s what Bridesmaids are for!  I loved my tulle!  I think tulle actually is “beachy” in a way, it’s so floaty and lovely:)  And your dress is going to get filthy, no matter what the material is or whether you’re on the beach or inside a reception hall, so don’t worry about that…Just wear a dress you love!  My dress got dirty from dancing my face off all night at the venue overlooking the beach!  The only issue I had with the beach itself was the seaweed…This was my tulle in action:

It will get totally filthy if you get in the water at all or stand in wet sand but if you’re ok with that then it should be fine.  Dry sand shouldn’t mess things up.
