Tell me your thoughts bees.
We want to have reception and ceremony in the same place.
At one of the venues we are considering, we would get married on an outdoor patio.. but from the doors to the end of the patio is about 10-15 paces. So there isn’t enough space to “walk down the aisle” (between the chairs where our family and friends would be sitting like you would do in a church etc.)
Instead, we would walk up a path and up two or three stairs to get to the patio. The arch would be at the top of the stairs. If our guests stood, they’d be able to see us coming up the path, but wouldn’t get a close-up look and we wouldn’t be walking by them.
My friend thinks this is sort of a weird configuration and that “walking down the aisle” is such a big part of the ceremony that I might regret doing it another way. She said people want to see pass them, want to see you up close, etc.
Anyone have an opinion? Should I mark this as a major con for the venue?
