  • poll: How would you describe your wedding/outside of wedding experiences?

Wedding planning is fun/running smoothly and I generally live a drama-free lifestyle

My life is like a reality tv show- drama loves me, wedding and all!

I am an easy-going person but wedding planning just SUCKS!

I am fairly laid-back and definitely drama-free.  My friends and family were all super supportive about all of our decisions.  We did pay for the bulk of the wedding ourselves though, so that is probably a pretty big factor.  Really the only big conflicts were between me and my husband Smile

I thought the actual planning was part fun, and part crazy stress.  We didn’t get much help with planning and projects because all of our closest friends and family live at least a few hours away.  I am not the best planner, very indecisive, a procrastinator, and get way up in my own head, so planning did take a toll on me. Part of the reason I opted for a shorter engagement (7 months) was to help with all these issues.  The timeline stressed me out but forced me to do stuff.  I wouldn’t say it sucked, but I am glad it’s over.  I am enjoying working on projects for my sister’s wedding a lot more!

@bigcitybee:  you just remind me a famous quote from my Future Mother-In-Law, in a heated conversation in a restaurant when we first got engaged:

“You think the wedding is about you two?  If you can’t accommodate your family , might as well just go to Vegas and elope!”

actually elopement is not a bad idea…if I get to do it in Europe 😛

P.S. to give this “accommodation” in more details, we were only talking about wedding dates at that point.  My in-laws were sooo superstitious and heard you can’t get married same month as the parents’s birthday, BAD LUCK for the marriage, I mean come on!  I don’t care if your birthday is in july/august, I want a summer wedding!!!  And Future Mother-In-Law threatened us they will lose sleep until the wedding if we pick the wrong date/month… LOL
