It seems to me that Weddingbee is for brides. Budget brides, lavish brides, ring addicted brides, destination brides, any kind of bride. 🙂
I agree. But I’m curious as to why this even came up.
Though, I wonder why a lot of things are said around here.
I’d say you can find info related to whatever budget you’re working with on this site.
I’ve seen recaps of some incredibly lavish weddings so no I don’t think so.
Based on poll numbers about budgets that I’ve seen before, I think the board may be skewed towards those with somewhat lower budgets but I’ve never gotten the sense that those with high budgets are unwelcome or out of place.
I would say it is for everyone but my guess is that those with huge budgets hire someone to do all of the nitty gritty searching around the interwebz/vendors for ideas and those who have a more strict budget are getting all of the DIY feedback or the this vs that feedback— so I get what those posters are saying but I have seen some awesome weddings posted in recaps that certainly had a very high budget!
There are lots of bees on here that have non-budget weddings. From $100 – $100,000! I love weddingbee because the women here comes from all walks of life and makes the site people friendly. I love looking at $5,000 wedding gowns just as much as a $20 wedding gown! Same with rings, etc… Please peruse the site and find out for yourself how versatile we all are!
@happyface: No girl, I’m not saying I think it’s skewed. I think it’s quite diverse I was just wondering about the general consensus.
Yeah, that is really weird! In the “money” section there have been recaps of people with various budgets: anywhere from $2,000-$50,000! I have seen some brides talk about how they feel shamed for their larger budgets on here, though, so maybe that’s it? But I know there are blogging bees with a wide range of budgets, and though some are outspoken about their budget weddings, others are just as outspoken about being willing to spend big for a big day!! And as a budget bride myself, I have to say I LIKE the diversity–it’s cool seeing that this “wedding” thing can be done in so many different ways!!
Weddingbee is for everyone. I was a mid-range budget bride, but there are threads on here with brides who have budgets over $50k and even over $100k. Sometimes some Bees get nasty with those brides, which is really not in the spirit of the community, in my opinion. If you go through the recaps there are some weddings that are clearly backyard BBQ affairs and others that are at mega nice estates, hotels, and destinations, but most seem to be the average expensive but not nutso affair.
Strange comment. I’m not sure how “those people” made that determination…
I think anyone who has been on this Board for even a short time, clearly can see that WBee is a diverse community… when it comes to Weddings (something for everyone)
BUT it also is a place that great women hang out to discuss a multitude of issues… witnessed by the wide variety of BOARDS
Relationships – Potential Brides (Waiting) – Brides (a HUGE Wedding Related Section) – Potential Mothers (TTC – Pregnancy) – Newlyweds – New Mothers (Babies) – Parenting – Home Ownership (Homes – Cooking)
Or Women’s issues and general chit chat like…
Intimacy – Fitness – Wellness – College – Career – and general spots like The Lounge, or WeddingBee
It’s for.. brides. All brides. The only thing I can figure is that threads about money tend to be more about how to cut costs, but then we’re more likely to need help on how to cut costs than on how to spend without worry. But there are so many threads about other things besides money.
I voted yes, cause it is…. But it’s also for brides with hundreds of thousands to spend and for TTC, babies, relationships, life issues, etc.
