I was thinking about songs to play after our marriage ceremony at church, and what a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong, and a few friends said that it was a funeral song..
What do you think?

I’ve definitely never thought of it as a funeral song! In fact, if I heard it at a funeral, I’d probably say, “Hang on a minute…this is a wedding song!”

I’ve never thought of it this way. Is it common in your area to play at funerals?
I never thought of calla Lillies as a funeral flower but my FH insistsfibers remind him of funerals. I guess people have different expectations.

We had it on our wedding playlist, so safe to say neither we nor the friend who put the music together for us thought of it as a funeral song.

I think it’s a song about life in general. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear it at either a wedding or a funeral, and think it would be beautiful (for different reasons) at both!

A lot of the musicians I looked at for the ceremony listed this as a popular wedding song, so I would think of it as a wedding song.

I’ve heard it as the mother-son dance at a few weddings. I don’t think it would be out of place at all.

I hope not, cause we used it as our mother son dance.

I hope not because that’s the song my Future Mother-In-Law wants to use when she dances with Fiance at our wedding. I’ve not heard it used at funerals before.
