My dress is for ME and that's that.

I picked something I know my MAN would like.

    Picked something my friends/family chose.

Multiple dress bride lost in the flood of opinions!

Me and Him - I think we will both love it!

I chose both.  I’m also a 2 dress bride.  The first one was family pressure.  The forever one, is something I absolutely love and I know he will too.

I wanted to look elegant and bridal, but I knew DH wanted to see my figure and hates tulle. Also, he didn’t want it to look too disney princessy. Fortunately, I didn’t want tulle, and I like my figure, so I fell in love with a dress that fell in line with what he wanted. I got some poof, but only after my hips.

I loved my dress when I found it because of the details that I, as a girlie girl, wanted, and for the cleavage enhancing v-neck that he, as a manly man, would appreciate!

I initially never wanted to wear a traditional white dress.  I wanted something in a gorgeous grey or this amazing Nicole Miller black and white sheath.  But he wanted white, so I’m in white.

Everything else is all me.  But I know he’ll love it because it shows all of my assets.  ha

My dress was for my mom. Let’s just leave it at that.

At he end of the day, my sister, husband, mom’s best friend, seamstress I got a skirt altered at yesterday, etc. etc. all said how pretty the dress was and how flattering it was.

But again, let’s just put it like this, the dress was for my mom and the one for me will never be worn.

I chose a dress that was for both of us as well. While shopping I knew what I wanted and didn’t want and I also made sure to keep in mind what I knew he would or wouldn’t like. He didn’t see me until I was walking down the aisle – when the doors opened and he saw me he gave his head a little shake as if to say “wow”, had tears in his eyes, and huge smile on his face. I think I did ok : )

Both of us, so didn’t vote.  I showed him some dresses prior to shopping, then asked him what he liked.  I found something we both loved.  ๐Ÿ™‚

@RoundSolitaire:  I agree haha, I have alot of tulle on the bottom of my dress that I don’t know how he will feel about, but I love it  and it is beautiful, so in the end as long as I’m in love with my dress, I’m good ๐Ÿ™‚

I picked my dress because I look and feel amazing in it! (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/i-said-yes-to-allure-8917-its-so-gorgeous)

I’m sure Fiance pictures me a certain way on our wedding day but no matter what I’m in, I know in my heart he is going to fall in love with me again and again on our wedding day.

So the answer to your question is. I picked it for me but hope he loves it.

I didn’t ask FH what he wanted to see me in. I did let him look at some pictures of dresses in general… but that was after mine was already hanging in the closet. If I feel good in something, that translates to happiness for him. He just wants me to be ok in what I choose. I’m the more critical one!

I chose my dress because I love it and I knew he’d love it too.  I know what he likes to see me in.

The reception dress is for him. Wink

My dress is for me but it is also something I knew he would fall over himself in love with. My families opinions were also pretty important to me. I wanted a dress that would bring tears to peoples eyes and bring jaws to the floor. And I got it!

I kept my DH’s likes and dislikes in mind when dress shopping, but when I found the dress that everyone loved I threw is dislikes out the window. My dress was the exact opposite of what he wanted. Oh well! No one is asking him to wear it Wink

To me it’s as simple as this – who’s wearing it? Oh right, ME! I wanted to feel beautiful, I wanted a unique dress, and I wanted it to be awesome. It was ALL of those things and he cried when he saw me during our first look so I’d say he wasn’t unhappy with it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Plus he told me how beautiful I looked in my gown that, in his words, was so “me!” <– You know, the lady he married? ๐Ÿ˜‰

ETA: I also don’t think choosing a wedding dress for yourself = somehow not valuing your husband’s opinion. I just don’t get that line of thought. If he loves you, he loves you always, no matter what you are wearing. If you feel pretty and confident in a dress, how could any man help but to love it? Just my little soapbox rant addition.
