My ring was pretty loose, but not to the point where it would go past my knuckle. I called the jewelry store to ask about getting a guard put in, but since I have their care plan on my ring I’m entitled to sizing for life. They told me to wait until summer, though, as fingers tend to swell. I waited until summer and the ring was still loose. When I went in to have it sized they sized it from a 6 to a 5. It’s definitely more snug, now. I do notice that when I’m cold it’s a little loose, but nowhere near what it was. I wouldn’t deal with a guard, if I were you, as I noticed my finger didn’t swell THAT much in the summer. I’d have it sized. You’ll feel better when it’s more snug.

My fingers tend to swell slightly during the day and I wanted my wedding ring (I wear a band only) to be looser rather than tighter. It would be to uncomfortable if it was to snug. I tried some of the plastic ring sizers but it was to bulky. Somedays my ring is so loose I have to keep adjusting it. One morning I woke up and it was gone. I FREAKED!!!! I’m not sure if it came off in the middle of the night or I had a dream and took it off but my husband found it in the covers.
I would wait until you wear your wedding band and see how it feels. If it’s still loose and you try the plastic sizers and they’re to bulky I think the jeweler can solder a bar into it. That might be an option.

My e-ring was too big, and it bugged me the entire time we were engaged. Now that we’re married, I just wear my wedding band. Do you plan on wearing your e-ring after you get married? I would try it on with the wedding band to see if it still feels loose…if it does, then maybe you should get it resized.
