I have a round, low set stone. The prongs never get caught on anything. It’s also knife edge, which some people complain is uncomfortable, but I don’t even feel my ring.

My ring is fairly “pointy” but I find it super comfortable due to the bezel setting.

I have an oval with a halo and the only time it’s ever an issue is sometimes at night I scratch my legs because i sleep on my side with my hand between my thighs… that sounds dirty but I dont’ mean it that way haha. But sometimes the edge of the halo scrapes my leg.

    Yes and no.

Yes, because I wear it every day.  It doesn’t bother me at all during the day.

No, because I can’t sleep in it.  I tried to when I first received it but it was too heavy. The discomfort would awaken me!  BTW it’s not heavy because of the stone.  It’s heavy because the band is pretty thick and I suppose pretty heavy as well.

@RayKay:  I love that ring! So awesome!

My ring is a rose cut bezel setting with rounded edges, which means its about as flat and smooth and non-snaggy as humanly possible. It is very comfortable.

I have a round semi-flush diamond with 2 flush set sapphire side stones with a european shank, which means instead of a “normal” circle shaped shank, mine is squared off at the bottom, which helps prevent it from spinning around on my finger. My ring is 5.4 dwt (there are 20 in one ounce, for those who aren’t jewelry geeks) so my ring is very heavy solid gold, which I love. Surprisingly, my ring is extremely comfortable! It did take some getting used to, tho.

I have a round set in a split shank with pave diamonds. It’s “comfortable” but it sits high so I’ll occasionally snag something.

My ring’s an elevated halo, with the stone being very very slightly above the halo, but not quite flush.  It’s very comfortable, and the only way you could get scratched by it would be…Idk, you’d have to try really hard.

Mine is a cushion cut solitaire and it’s comfortable. I don’t notice it when it’s there but I definitely notice when it isn’t there.

Mine with a 3 stone princess cut with round brilliants on the sides and matching on the wedding band. I got my jeweller to make is comfort fit so it’s rounder inside the band and it’s super comfy, despite diamonds touching the sides of my fingers. If get used to rings either way 🙂
