@Mrs.KMM: I totally agree. I work as an IT Professional myself, it’s not like it has better attributes than any other laptop in the same price range. Some ASUS and of course the Lenovos are more preferable in the long run, just in my opinion. You get better RAM, Processor power and usually they tend to get cheaper qand yet they are more powerful and reliable. I myself got a DELL M15X Alienware from Fiance last year. I love it, but next year I will probably get myself a Thinkpad. I game alot, do alot of rendering with Illustrator and Photoshop. I am in no need of the ” Apple”. Overhyped and overdone. The design might be awesome sure, but I would not pay an overpriced laptop for that money.

I love the Macbook Airs, but my work requires a lot of RAM and is pretty complex stuff, and I need a bigger screen size and a CD drive. I don’t do any gaming, at all, ever (I don’t even have a single game on my Android smartphone haha).
I’m looking at Macs because of the intensive computer work for my job–it’s not just for surfing the internet at all, i really need a high-performing computer.
i’m keeping my 2008 MacBook Pro for now (which I love, but it’s only got 2g of RAM and i kind of need 4). We’ll have to see about an upgrade to the 2011 one when we have some more money. Thanks everyone for your helpful feedback!

Absolutely! I <3 <3<3 my Mac. Seriously, Fiance and I got it just 3 weeks ago. I was a PC girl (Dell Latitude) and it was crapping out on me big time. The mac is amazing and ridiculously intuitive. I’m also on my computer almost every waking moment as I’m in my 3rd year of pharmacy school and if I’m not in class, I’m usually working on stuff via the internet. Love the mac. It’s absolutely amazing. I cry when I have to go to work and use the PC.

A MacBook Pro is so worth the money, I received one or Xmas last year and I love it, I have the ipad as well as the iPhone, nothing is better. I would rather pay once and cry, then continue to pay for cheap alternatives. You can’t go wrong with a Mac good luck.
